Badal inaugurated Farmers Fair on Pradhan Mantri Fasal Beema Yojna
LUDHIANA: Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Union Minster of Food Processing Industry, inaugurated one-day awareness programme on “Pradhan Mantri Phasal Bima Yojana” at KVK-adopted village Kaljharani in Bathinda on Sunday. In her inaugural address, she thanked the Prime Minister for launching various schemes like “Soil health Card” and “Pardhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna” in favour of farmers community. She urged the farmers to get benefit of the Food Processing Training-cum-Bussiness Incubation Centre started at PAU Research Station, Bathinda. She briefed about various schemes initiated and the subsidies given by Ministry of Food Processing industries. She emphasized on the importance of Mega Food Park and Cold Chain for the reducing the wastage of agriculture raw produce.
Dr. Rajbir Singh, Director, ICAR- Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Ludhiana urged the farmers to adopt PMFBY.
Dr. R. S. Sidhu, Director (Extension), PAU, Ludhiana, appreciated the efforts made by KVK Bathinda for educating farmers about the PMFBY and successful cultivation of kharif crops.
An Exhibition was also organized during the event to show case the various technologies in which different department, NGOs and other private companies participated.
More than 1000 farm women and farmers participated in the programme.
