CCSHAU & Taiwan agri-universities sign MoU on agri-research

Hisar: On the invitation of Ministry of Education, Taiwan Government, a delegation of Vice-Chancellors from Indian Universities led by Association of Indian Universities, visited Taiwan on Tuesday. Prof. K. P. Singh, Vice-Chancellor, CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar represented the Indian Agricultural Universities as a member of Taiwan-India Presidents Forum-2018.

According to Prof. K.P. Singh, inspired by the common objectives to promote and accelerate the progress of research and training in various disciplines of agricultural research, the MoU has been signed between Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University and National Chung Cheng University of Taiwan. CCSHAU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. K.P. Singh and National Chung Cheng University, President, Dr. Zhang-Hua Fong signed the agreement in Taiwan. Under this MoU both the universities will cooperate with each other in agricultural research.

He said under the MoU, it has been agreed upon to exchange of faculty, students, farmers, industrialists and technologists; exchange germplasm and breeding material of mutual interest; exchange scientific literature, information and methodology; as available and required in programme of common interest as may be mutually agreed upon. Under the students exchange prograrmme, UG and PG students of CCSHAU students will visit Taiwan and vice versa. Dual degree and Joint degree programme will be started with Taiwan University. Progressive farmers of Haryana will visit Taiwan University and will get modern agricultural information. Similarly, farmers of Taiwan will visit CCSHAU and will be able to learn technologies developed by CCSHAU.

 

Apart from this, each party will ensure appropriate protection of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) generated from cooperation. In case of research results obtained through joint activities, the grant of IPR will be sought by both the parties jointly.

He said that CCSHAU has initiated the process of cooperation with the prestigious academic and research institutions within and outside the country to boost its academic and research pursuits. Under these MoUs,  we have been moving forward by identifying areas of mutual interest. All the expenditure of this visit was sponsored by Education Department of Taiwan.
