Centre implements MSP for moong from this kharif

NEW DELHI: Centre has Tuesday announced the Minimum Support Price of moong with Rs5275 per quintal this kharif .The MSP will be implemented with effect from 1^st September 2016.

Maharashtra and Karnataka have offered to introduce the MSP while purchasing moong. National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd (NAFED) will buy the dal from Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana. The centre also asks other states to procure moong, if the price falls below the MSP.

The minimum support price of moong  for this kharif is Rs 425 more per quintal as compare to last year. It is observed that from many years now the minimum support price for moong, though determined, was not implemented.
