Class India Awards merit scholarships to PAU agri-engineers

Ludhiana: The students of College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), were awarded scholarships by CLASS India during the award ceremony, organized by CLASS company at its manufacturing plant in Morinda. The CLAAS group is known for combine harvesters, balers and other agricultural equipment in India and abroad.

 

Dr Ashok Kumar, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, said PAU and CLAAS India have long association with each other and aim at achieving academic excellence in the institution through industry participative programmes and students’ development activities. He further emphasized on fortifying this collaboration for carrying out industry oriented research work and internship programmes.

 

Ms Ella Detkova, HR Director of CLAAS functionaries in India, USA, Russia, China, Hungary and France, presented the scholarships to the students and appreciated the role of PAU agricultural engineers in the company.

 

Mr Sri Ram Kannan, Managing Director and Mr Sandeep Hooda, Head, HR of CLAAS India, stressed the need for building industry-institute interface for mutual benefits and acknowledged the contributions made by PAU graduates in various sectors at international level.

 

Dr S.K. Gupta and Dr Vishal Bector, Members of the Training and Placement Committee of the College, said CLAAS India has been recruiting agricultural engineers from PAU for the last many years and they have been working with this leading organization at various levels in India and abroad.
