Encourage Youths to Venture into Farming: DrTrilochanMohapatra

Director General of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) DrTrilochanMohapatra has asked farm scientists to entice youths to take up farming on a greater scale.

“It is our responsibility to fulfill the aspiration of our pm by doubling farmers income in the next three years,” said Mohapatra while addressing a gathering of farm scientists drawn from several ICAR institutes located in Odisha and farmers from Odisha, Assam and Jharkhand at ‘dhaandiwas’, the foundation day of National Rice Research Institute in Cuttack.

Mohapatra, who also happens to be the secretary of Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), said the country is expecting a record crop production of 272 mt in last fiscal.
