Farm Innovators’ Meet held in IARI

New Delhi: In an effort to encourage innovation in agriculture, Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) organized one day FARM INNOVATORS’ MEET 2016 at IARI campus here. All 115 innovative farmers attended the meet and shared their experience in using innovative technology in farms.

“Maximizing Farm Profitability through Entrepreneurship Development and Farmer Led innovations was the main objective of the programme. The event provides an opportunity for the farmers, marketers and researchers to interact and share their experience and knowledge,’ said Dr. Ravinder Kaur while inaugurating the meet.

Sudhir Aggarwal, a successful farmer, while speaking on this occasion highlighted innovative techniques in seed production whereas Deepak Raj, an engineer who has quit Wipro, spoke about his dairy and organic farming ventures in Uttarakhand.

Other farmers such as Ketanbhai of Gujarat and  Bharat Bhushan shared their innovative ways of farming, thereby making agriculture profitable and sustainable.

Among others NIFTEM, Agrinnovate India Limited and Shergill agricultural farm had participated in the Farm Innovators’ Meet.
