Fisheries and aquaculture stakeholders meet held in Mumbai

Mumbai: In an effort to promote fisheries and aquaculture sector in India, a national conference on ‘Efficient Venue Chain in Fisheries & Aquaculture’ was held at Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), Mumbai last Saturday. SMART AGRIPOST in collaboration with CIFE had organised this conference to deliberate on the issues related to fisheries and aquaculture value chain in the country.

Welcoming the delegates, Dr. Gopal Krishna, Director/VC, ICAR-CIFE, said, “It is a very good initiative of SMART AGRIPOST. All stakeholders present in this conference will certainly discuss important issues such as climate change and sustainability”.

Pravash Pradhan organiser of the conference and Editor of SMART AGRIPOST dwelt on the objective of the conference by saying, “The conference was organised  with a purpose to create a quality platform for all stakeholders in fisheries and aquaculture sector and raise very important issues. It will help policy makers understand the real issues plaguing the sector and find solutions.”

Among others, Rajendra J. Jadhav, Jt. Commissioner of Fisheries, Maharashtra,  Dr. Pravin Puthran, ADG, ICAR, Dr Dilip Kumar, Fisheries sector Planning, Policy & Development Advisor, Ex-Director/VC, ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai, Dr. S D Tripathy, Fellow, Indian Fisheries Association, Mumbai and B.K Mishra, MD, FISHCOPFED were present on this occasion.
