Government to Make Arunachal Fully Organic Within 3 Years

Itanagar: In a bid to make Arunachal Pradesh a hundred percent organic state within three years, the state Chief Minister Pema Khandu has asked all the departments concerned to work hard for preparing a sound road map in this regard.

Khandu was chairing a meeting of the Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board (APAMB), along with Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and Agriculture Minister Wangki Lowang.

Khandu has also given assurance that that the state government will do everything possible to strengthen the Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board (APAMB) so that APAMB becomes a viable platform to connect farmers and buyers in a more effective way.

Last month Arunachal Pradesh had launched the State Organic Mission with a view to shifting to organic farming in a phased manner and promoting the state as an organic state.

With 82 per cent forest cover Arunachal Pradesh is among the richest resource based states when it comes to aromatic and medicinal plants.
