Govt sets a target of 147.9 MT foodgrain production during this Kharif season
New Delhi: The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare on Thursday has set its target for foodgrain production during kharif 2019 at 147.9. Million Tonnes (MT) with rice output pegged at 102 MT. This has been announced during the two days national kharif campaign starting from 25th April 2019 in New Delhi.
The Ministry also expects the foodgrain production during Rabi season 2019-20 to be around 143.2 MT. Total maize production during kharif 2019 is expected to be about 21.3 MT while total coarse cereals production would be around 35.8 MT.
Total pulse production during kharif 2019 will be around 10.1 MT while the pulse production during Rabi season 2019-20 is expected to be around 16.2 MT.
The production of Bazra, Jowar, Ragi and small Millets would be 9.5MT, 2.1MT, 2.3MT and 0.6MT respectively.
The cotton production is set at 35.75 million bales during this kharif season.
