ICAR-IIHR Exhibition Stall was Adjudged as ‘The Best’ in Yelahanka Lake Festival

BANGALURU: The exhibition stall of ICAR-IIHR arranged at the exhibition organized at ‘Allalasandra Lake Festival, Yelahanka, Bengaluru’ on Sunday was adjudged as ‘the best’ stall. ICAR-IIHR will receive a certificate for this achievement from ‘Yelahanka United Environment Association (YUVA)’, Bengaluru.

ICAR-IIHR was invited by YUVA to participate in the Exhibition arranged as part of the ‘Allalasandra Lake Festival, Yelahanka, Bengaluru’ organized by YUVA, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), Bengaluru and Namma Bengaluru Foundation on Sunday. This festival was organized to celebrate the revival of Allasandra lake at Yelahanka. The purpose of the programme was create awareness among the citizens about importance of saving as well as sustainable use of natural resources such as land and water. Demonstrations and knowledge sharing programmes of rain water harvesting, tree planting, use of bio-fertilizer/ pesticides, kitchen gardening, urban horticulture, terrace gardening, solid waste management etc. were the important events of the celebration.

ICAR-IIHR stall was arranged with live samples and products in such a way to create awareness among the citizens about the importance of kitchen gardening and urban horticulture. Free literature were distributed and seeds of vegetables and ornamental crops were sold to the visitors. The ICAR-IIHR stall was appreciated by the visitors because the exhibits were attractive and informative.  More than 10,000 citizens of Yelahanka, Bengaluru visited the ICAR-IIHR stall.
