Jain Irrigation bags major irrigation project worth Rs 9750 million

Jalgaon:  Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd (JISL), the world leader in drip irrigation, has bagged the single largest order ever in its history worth INR 9750 million from Water Resources Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh to execute the Mohanpura Major Project.

The Mohanpura Major Project is the single largest of its kind, ‘Future Ready’ Micro Irrigation Project. It will cover total cultivable command area of 228475 acres under micro irrigation. The project will be completed in 36 months.

The project involves survey, design, engineering, planning and execution of various components like Pump houses and Pumping Machinery electrical sub stations, delivery chambers, civil work, up-gradation of “Rojya” Dam, MS rising mains, distribution network up to 1 Ha chak, automation, SCADA for the pumping and network system and Operation and Maintenance for three years after completion.

This pressurized piped irrigation project is to be designed in such a way that every farmer will be able to attach their micro irrigation systems at a later stage to the outlets provided at every 1 Ha level. This will ensure “Har Khet Ko Pani”.

The project is located in Rajgarh district – one of the under developed districts of the state. Completion of this project will not only save huge amount of precious water source, but will also increase the yield/productivity of the crops being grown in the project area, resulting into “Doubling Farmers Income” which is an ultimate goal of the government for farming community.

“The “Resource To Root” is revolutionary concept, where water is delivered from water source to root zone of the plants through Drip Irrigation, resulting in high Water Use Efficiency. This will transform the way Irrigation projects are conceptualized, designed and executed in India. This shall also create new avenues and open doors for “More Crop Per Drop” through micro irrigation in the huge command area of 228,475 acres” says Mr. Anil Jain, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Jain Irrigation.

Mr. Anil Jain also added after receiving the LOI, “We are happy to have been awarded the prestigious and path breaking project, which also happens to be single largest order in the history of the Company. The project is bringing and underdeveloped agrarian district into development zone and this augurs well for the state. This adds to already high order book of the company.
