Karnataka farmers to go for ‘jail bharo’ protest on August 8

Hassan (Karnataka): The Hassan district wing of Karnatak Pranth Raitha Sangha (KPRS) threatens to launch   a ‘jail bharo’ programme on 8th August demanding implementation of M S Swaminathan commission recommendation to fix the farm price. They will be protesting in front of deputy commissioner’s office in Hassan.

It is part of the nationwide protest conducted by Indian Kishan Sabha which has been demanding the fix the minimum support price at least 50 per cent more than the cost of production.

The Kishan Sabha plans to hold a meeting on 5th September in front of Parliament to press for their demand to fix the MSP in line with the recommendation of Prof M S Swaminathan.

The district with of KPRS has started a signature campaign to create awareness among farmers.
