MP takes a big stride in agriculture sector: Radha Mohan Singh

Gwalior: Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Radha Mohan Singh  while addressing at the 81st Annual Conference of Rajmata Vijay Raje Sindhia Agriculture University, Gwalior on Thursday said that the greatest problem we are facing in the present perspective is how we should provide advanced technology and recent inventions to the farmers.

The theme of the conference is “Sustainability of Production in Pulses and More Crops with Low Resources”.

Union Minister said that the fundamental natural resources in Indian agriculture sector like availability of big holdings as well as water is going to be reduced and unexpected change in climate triggered low yield in the crops leading to economical loss to the farmers.

Radha Mohan said that we are required to reduce the cost of agriculture and balance the use of fertilizers and water. Timely sowing process, solution of pest related disorders and required techniques are to be used.

Laiding the foundation of Unified Apiculture Development Centre in Agriculture Science Centre, Morena Singh said that apiculture is a good source of income for agricultural labourers as well as farmers.

Union Minister also inaugurated a Farmers Fair cum Demonstration as well as Apiculture Awareness Programme in Zonal Agriculture Research Centre, Morena.

Radha Mohan Singh inaugurated the Agriculture Technical Information Centre. He also said that the State of Madhya Pradesh is enjoying a prominent status related to the agricultural sector compared to the national average development. During the course of the last years the enhancement of farmers income has been 18.95 to 25% by dint of the labour of the farmers.

Union Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Drinking Water and Sanitation,  Narendra Singh Tomar and other dignitaries are also seen.
