
New Consumer Protection Bill to be passed in the winter session
New Delhi: India has drafted a new Consumer Protection Bill through extensive stakeholder consultation and study of best practices across the world at the intergovernmental group of experts meeting in Geneva on Wednesday.
While drafting the Bill, India has ensured simplicity, speed, access, affordability and timely delivery of justice to consumers.
It is a great transformative step towards strengthening consumer protection,said C.R. Chaudhary, Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, while addressing the first Session of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Consumer Protection Law and Policy during launch of revised UN Guidelines for Consumer Protection.
