PAU inks pact for Commercialization of Maize Flour

Ludhiana: Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has inked a pact with Dev Foods, Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Nagar, Ludhiana for the commercialization of formulation of Maize Flour for Rollable Chapati, in the presence of Dr. R.S. Sidhu, Registrar, PAU.

He congratulated the proprietors for sharing responsibility of disseminating the technologies developed by PAU. Dr N.S. Bains, Director of Research, PAU, and Sunil Kumar Yadav, Chairman, Dev Foods, signed the Memorandum of Agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

Dr. Ashok Kumar, Additional Director of Research added that as per MoA, University offers non-exclusive rights to the Dev Foods to manufacture and market the Formulation  of Maize Flour for Rollable Chapati PAU within India.

Director of Research, Dr N.S. Bains congratulated Dr. Amarjeet Kaur, Senior Millet Technologist and Dr. Nisha, Research Fellow, Department of Food Science and Technology for developing the technology for shelf stable, preservative free, ready to roll and cook chapaties.

Dr. S.S. Chahal, Adjunct Professor, Technology Marketing and IPR Cell informed that PAU has signed 189 MoAs and commercialized 43 technologies including hybrid lines of mustard, chilly, brinjal and varieties, bio-fertilizers, leaf colour chart, water testing kit, products, apple cider, and other technologies. Dr. Poonam, Head, Department of Food Science and Technology said that it is an excellent product for celiac patients. Dr. Amarjeet Kaur said that this formulation will be highly popular and meet the demands of modern generation. Dr. Nisha, Researcher stated that the formulation is shelf stable for six months in laminated pouches under ambient conditions.
