
PM inaugurates fully automatic cattle feed plant in Gujarat
Tapi (Gujarat): Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a fully automatic cattle feed plant of the Surat District Cooperative Milk Producers Union Limited ( Sumul) Dairy at Bajipura village in the Tapi district in Gujarat. PM Modi, who was in Gujarat on a two-day visit, also took time to inaugurate an ice-cream plant.
Underscoring the need to increase per capita milk production, PM Modi said, “As far as milk production is concerned, we are doing well but we can do lot more. Focus must be to increase per capita milk production.”
The PM was of the view that in the agriculture sector, this is the time for value addition and food processing.
Lauding the role of SUMUL in empowering several people in the nearby areas, PM Modi said, “We can also see the good that happens when farmers and dairies work closely.”
“Here, in SUMUL we see the positive results that can be achieved when Sahkar (Cooperatives) and Sarkar (Government) work together.”
