Radha Mohan Singh invites Canada to invest in cold chain technology
NEW DELHI: On the sidelines of G-20 Agriculture Ministers meeting at Istanbul on Thursday, Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh sought investment in cold chain technologies in India. During meeting with Agriculture Minister of Canada, Gerry Ritz, he highlighted India’s need for low cost, energy efficient and ecologically sustainable cold chain technologies. Both agreed to discuss issues of mutual interest.
Singh also met EU Agriculture Commissioner Phil Hogan and urged him to lift ban on import of vegetables including Bitter Gourd, Snake Gourd, Okra etc from India. He also hailed EU’s decision for lifting the ban on import of Indian mangoes.
It was also agreed to quickly fix the date for the 4th meeting of the Joint Working Group with a view to take forward the cooperation between the two countries.
