SMART FERTILIZER CONCLAVE 2020 held at VAMNICOM, Pune.
Pune: SMART AGRIPOST and Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM) has jointly taken an initiative in organizing a national conference on soil nutrient management, SMART FERTILIZERS CONCLAVE 2020 held at Vamnicom campus on 28-29 February 2020.
The main objective of the event was to deliberate on use of smart technologies for efficient soil nutrient management and promotion of judicious use of fertilizers. The conference focused on the need of policy reforms to meet the future challenges.
Shri Chhabilendra Roul, Secretary, Department of Fertilizers, Government of India graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Among others, the two days conference witnessed participation of a large number of FPOs, progressive farmers, fertilizer companies, academia and students.
Many startups working in the application of Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics and Sensor Based Technologies in the field of soil nutrient management showcased their technologies.
“The need of the hour is to inform and educate farmers about the judicious use of fertilizers. It will not only help maintaining soil health but also increase productivity. Thus, the national conference will provide an opportunity to engage all stakeholders and deliberate on current policy issues and latest technologies for efficient soil nutrient management” said Pravash Pradhan, Organizing Secretary of this Conclave.

Union Government has emphasized on this issue in its Budget 2020-21. Thus, it is a very good opportunity for all cooperative organizations to participate in this national conference and enhance their knowledge base for sustainable development of agriculture,” said Dr K K Tripathy, Director, VAMNICOM.
