Argentina Delegation Visits ICAR
New Delhi: A delegation from Argentina’s National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) visited ICAR recently.
Dr. T. Mohapatra, Secretary, DARE & DG, ICAR welcomed the Argentina delegation led by Dr. Amadeo Nicora, President of INTA, and briefly mentioned about the Indian National Agricultural Research & Education System (NARES) under the ICAR and the various research, educational and extension activities undertaken in the different agro-ecologies of country through its vast network.
Dr. Mohapatra stated that there exists a MoU between the Governments of India and Argentina and the collaborative activities can be pursued through a biennial work plan.
The National Institute of Agricultural Technology presented their various activities through a video film. The team also visited the IVRI, Izatnagar. Dr. J. K. Jena, Deputy Director General (Fisheries Science and Animal Science), ICAR pursued the discussion for identification of areas of mutual interest for collaborative research.
Diagnosis of anaplasmosis and babesiosis under animal health, zero tillage, climate change and other aspects were discussed and it was decided that both sides will identify 4-5 areas of mutual interest for finalisation of a common work plan.
