The Central Water Commission (CWC) has given its nod to an ambitious Rs 30,000 crore Eastern Rajasthan canal project (ERCP) which aims to take Chambal river water to the people of 13 parched districts located in the eastern part of the state to meet their drinking and irrigation requirements.

SriramVedire, Chairperson, Rajasthan River Basin and Water Resources Planning Authority, said, “We have got the approval from the CWC for the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP).
