Haryana Issues Notification on PM Crop Insurance Scheme

Chandigarh: Haryana government has issued a notification regarding the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (PMFBY) so that the farmers could avail insurance cover against crop failure due to natural calamities for 2017-18.

 

States Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department in a notification mentioned that districts had been divided into three clusters. While under Cluster I, the PMFBY in the Sirsa, Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri, Faridabad, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Panchkula and Rewari districts of the state would be implemented by ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Limited.

 

As per notification, the districts of Hisar, Sonipat, Gurugram, Karnal, Ambala, Jind and Mahendergarh are in Cluster II and Fatehabad, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Nuh, Palwal, Panipat and Yamunanagar will be included in Cluster III. Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Limited has been appointed the insurance agency in the districts included in the Clusters II and III.

 

The farmers would have to pay only two per cent premium of sum insured for Kharif crop and one per cent premium of sum insured for Rabi crop.

 

All farmers including share-croppers and tenant farmers cultivating the notified crops in the insurance unit would be able to take part in the insurance scheme.

 

The last date for enrollment under the scheme would be July 31, 2017.
