Punjab to Organize Training Program on Food Safety Act 2006
Chandigarh: The Punjab government is all set to organize a special training programme relating to Food Safety Standards & Regulation Act 2006. The programme, which will be held on the month of July, will be organized for the assistant food commissioners, food inspectors, and designated officers of the health department.
Under this training programme, which will incorporate important subjects like food operations & control, management & supervision, food testing, prevention of cross contamination besides consumer information, 30 officers of health department will be trained.
The state health and family welfare minister Brahm Mohindra said that the main initiative of the training is to impart the proper awareness about food safety, standards, food safety management.
Punjab health department has never organized such training programme for the food safety department officers.
Mohindra said that the main duty of health department is to take care about the health and hygiene of the individuals and that can be maintained by supplying nutritious and unadulterated food items.
