Rallis India Q2 profit falls 17% on weak kharif demand; H1 revenue up 3%
Mumbai: Rallis India Limited, a Tata Enterprise, reported a subdued second quarter for FY27 as weather-related disruptions and delayed sowing hit market demand.
Revenue for the quarter ended September 30, 2026 was ₹858 crore, nearly flat against ₹861 crore a year earlier. Profit after tax (PAT) fell to ₹85 crore from ₹102 crore, while EBITDA declined to ₹126 crore from ₹154 crore.
For the first half, revenue rose to ₹1,880 crore from ₹1,818 crore, and PAT improved to ₹210 crore from ₹197 crore.
The crop care business grew 4% in Q2, led by 17% growth in the B2B segment on a strong recovery in the custom synthesis and manufacturing portfolio. Domestic formulations were flat, with herbicides up 16%. The Soil & Plant Health business grew 22%, mainly on price growth, while seeds declined on higher kharif returns.
Rallis launched four crop care products during the quarter: Silentra (insecticide), Marcellus (fungicide), Blitox Super (fungicide) and Trynage (herbicide). They target rice brown planthopper, sheath blight, sugarcane weed control and disease management in a key horticulture crop.
Managing Director & CEO Dr. Gyanendra Shukla said the company navigated a disruptive environment by focusing on portfolio and operational efficiencies. The company added that it remains focused on market execution, cost efficiencies and customer engagement.
Rallis is a subsidiary of Tata Chemicals Limited, with a network of 7,200 dealers and over 95,000 retailers across India.
