Agrovision South starts from 21 Feb

BANGALORE: South India’s largest agriculture summit  ‘Agrovision South’ is scheduled to be held at Belagavi from February 21 to 23, 2015. Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) in association with MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications is organising the event.

The three-day mega event will be convened at Belagavi Exhibition Centre in Auto Nagar and feature workshops and exhibition. The event will showcase innovations in agriculture, programmes for start-ups and platform for industry and investors, buyer-seller meet, agriculture captains conclave, policy-makers, users conclave and Agrovision South Excellence Awards.

Around four lakh farmers are expected to visit the summit wherein 150 exhibitors will be showcasing their wares. Further, 21 workshops and lectures of over 30 eminent speakers will be held, said  Basavaraj Javali, chairman of the event, and C M Rajamane, president, KASSIA.

The event will be inaugurated by Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah in the presence of Union minister for micro, small and medium enterprises Kalraj Mishra; agriculture minister Krishna Byre Gowda; and Gerardine Mukeshimana, minister in the government of Republic of Rwanda.

Delegations from Israel and Rwanda will be participating in the summit. The key areas the event will focus on are innovative measures to increase crop productivity; soil testing techniques; harnessing farm produce from lab to land; and agriculture extension practices like food processing and related sectors. Many companies including Karnataka Seeds Corp, Coir Board, Khadi Udyog, Hi Tech Agri Services, Devarsh Exim, Paragon Synthetics and Polymer Limited, Mahyco, Raksha Pipes, and CSR Intrusions will take part.
