Milk Production Rose to 465.5 MT during 2014-17

New Delhi: India has witnessed an increase in the production of milk which has risen to 465.5 million tonnes during 2014-17, Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Radha Mohan Singh said.

Delineating about achievements of the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ministry during three years of the Modi Government, Radha Mohan said the three-year growth rate has been 16.9 per cent.

According to the Minister, the total milk production during 2014-17 was 465.5 million tonnes while the corresponding figure for 2011-14 is 398.01 tonnes.

In 2014-17, 248.73 billion of eggs were produced while the corresponding figure for 2011-14 was 210.93 billion. The three year growth rate has been 17.92 per cent.  Fish production was 272.88 lakh tonnes during the years 2011-14 which increased to 327.74 lakh tonnes during the year 2014-17.
