MoU signed between ICAR and Trans- Discipline University

BENGALURU: Dr. S. Ayyappan, Secretary DARE and Director General, ICAR inaugurated utility Building of ICAR-National Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology and Disease Informatics (ICAR-NIVEDI) on Saturday at Yelahanka, Bengaluru.

Dr Ayyappan visited the Biosafety Laboratory facility and Building Management System along with other facilities and conveyed his appreciation.. He expressed his satisfaction to the scientific work being carried out and advised the scientists to continue with the good work and come out with outstanding publications.

On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between ICAR, New Delhi and Trans-Discipline University, Bengaluru on Ethno-veterinary medicine.

Dr. Ayyappan and Dr. Darshan Shankar, Vice-Chancellor, TDU signed the agreement on behalf of respective institutes.

Dr Ayyappan said that research on Ethno-veterinary medicine is being carried out by many institute as isolated cases and there is a need to systematically and scientifically carryout the research so that the output will benefit the farming community in the country.

Dr. Shankar explained the activities of the university and hoped that the signing of the MoU will pave way for better understanding of the “Pashu Ayurveda”.
Dr. H Rahman, Director, ICAR-NIVEDI informed that NIVEDI is collaborating with TDU in the field of bovine mastitis and signing the MOU will further strengthen the research collaboration between two organizations.

Directors, scientists and officials of local ICAR institutes participated in the event.
