Shrimp Retail 2026 to Launch India’s Biggest Shrimp Industry Platform in Vijayawada

Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh:  A two-day conference, Shrimp Retail 2026, a first-of-its-kind dedicated platform for the growth of India’s shrimp retail ecosystem, will be held on 29-30 September 2026 at Novotel in Vijayawada. The 5th edition of this conference will focus on powering India’s shrimp retail growth.

Highlighting the significance of the event, Pravash Pradhan, Convenor of the Shrimp Retail, said, “Shrimp Retail 2026 is envisioned as a transformative platform bringing the entire seafood and shrimp retail ecosystem under one roof. We aim to create meaningful business opportunities, encourage value addition and innovation, and strengthen the domestic seafood supply chain in the country. Through this initiative, we hope to bridge industry gaps, improve value realisation for shrimp farmers, and drive the future of organised shrimp retail in India.”

The two-day industry platform will bring together shrimp farmers, processors, exporters, retailers, HoReCa leaders, chefs, food brands, startups, distributors, investors, policymakers, and technology providers to explore emerging opportunities in shrimp retail, branding, cold chain infrastructure, value-added seafood, and domestic seafood consumption.

India is currently one of the world’s largest shrimp exporters, contributing significantly to the global seafood trade. The country produces over 1 million metric tonnes of shrimp annually, with Andhra Pradesh accounting for nearly 70% of India’s farmed shrimp production. Despite this remarkable growth, thousands of shrimp farmers continue to struggle with fluctuating market prices, rising input costs, disease outbreaks, and limited direct access to organised retail markets.

A major challenge faced by shrimp farmers is the presence of multiple intermediaries in the supply chain, which often reduces transparency and prevents farmers from receiving fair prices for their produce. Industry experts believe that strengthening retail linkages, direct procurement systems, branding, and cold chain networks can help improve farmer profitability while increasing domestic seafood consumption in India.

Shrimp Retail 2026 aims to address these critical industry challenges by creating a unified platform for business networking, knowledge exchange, investment discussions, and retail innovation. The event will feature exhibitions, B2B meetings, expert panel discussions, culinary showcases, startup presentations, networking sessions, and industry awards. More than 400+ delegates from across India and international markets are expected to participate, making it one of the country’s largest seafood business gatherings.

Shailendra Singh, Corporate Chef, Pride Hotels Group, who has participated in the last two editions of the Shrimp Retail, said,“Speaking at the Shrimp Retail Conference over the past two editions has been a truly enriching experience. It’s encouraging to see such a focused initiative elevating the shrimp, seafood, and hospitality ecosystem in India. It is a must-attend platform for chefs and purchase managers to understand the entire shrimp value chain and explore how premium seafood experiences can be delivered to consumers.”

Sharing his perspective on the importance of such an initiative, Sajith T, CEO, Growelicious Private Limited, who spoke at the last edition, said, “Shrimp Retail Conference offers a highly relevant platform for B2B players and distributors to connect, collaborate, and unlock new growth opportunities in the shrimp and seafood sector. It brings together the right ecosystem to explore partnerships, streamline sourcing, and expand market reach. I see strong potential for meaningful collaborations across the seafood, HoReCa, and distribution landscape.”

The event is organized by P2C Communications, a New Delhi-based media and communication firm providing strategic communication services in the field of agriculture, food, seafood, and allied sectors in the country.

The event is expected to play a key role in promoting sustainable seafood business practices, retail innovation, and stronger market access for Indian shrimp producers.
