Prime Minister interacts with farmers through video webcast

Bhatinda (KVK)-Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, interacted with about 200 farmers , in a scientific Kisan Goshti programme organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra , Bhatinda , through a video webcast.

Prime Minister addressed the programme  under the initiative of  ‘doubling the farmer income by 2022’. During this telecast the PM sensitised the farmers regarding the topic such as importance of soil and water testing , drip irrigation & judicious use of fertilizers. Further the prime minister also emphasized on value addition for increasing farmer’s income. The programme also witnessed an exemplary interaction of prime minister  with a farm women of kanker district , who is marketing her produce(milk & sita phal)  as sita phal ice cream and earning Rs. 300 per day as compared to hitherto Rs. 50/-.

?The interacting pogramme saw the presence of Dr. Jitender Singh  Brar, Associate  Director, Krishi Vigyan Kendra,  Bathinda  ,Dr.  Ajit Pal Singh Dhaliwal ,Mr. R. P. Setia ,bank adviser,Dr. Jaswinder Kaur Brar  and Dr. Gurmeet Singh Dhillion.

  Dr. Jitender Singh  Brar, Associate  Director, Krishi Vigyan Kendra,  Bathinda  informed the farmers about Govt.  Schemes  and motivated all the farmers to take maximum advantage of farming techniques. Mr . Singh also gave information about various techniques for the conservation of natural resources. Dr.  Ajit Pal Singh Dhaliwal stressed on the need to adopt dairy farming and poultry farming activities to increase the income of farmers so that the income of the farmers could be doubled by 2022 and their economic level could be increase. Mr. R. P. Setia (bank adviser) substantially informed the farmers  about the Prime Minister’s monetary plan to aid  the farmers. Dr. Jaswinder Kaur Brar described in detail regarding various farm women entrepreneurs. Finally Dr. Gurmeet Singh Dhillon thanked the farmers for their visit.
